Teeth Extraction
When a tooth is badly decayed or completely fractured, it must be removed or extracted.
Patient may be experiencing pain before an extraction, the actual extraction is painless. We apply local anesthesia and sedation when necessary to ensure a comfortable experience.
After the extraction, many patients heal quickly and resume daily activities within a few days.
Wisdom Teeth Removal
Third molars are commonly known as wisdom teeth. They are the last teeth to erupt in your mouth.
Wisdom teeth erupt in late teens or early twenties.
Since they are the last set of teeth, your jaw may be not enough space for them to grow in. They may cause crowding, cavity, infection, cysts and damage to other teeth and considerable pain. Some people may experience jaw pain, bad breath, bad taste, or difficult opening.
- Here are several reasons to remove wisdom teeth:
- Impaction or damage to adjacent teeth
- Infection or decay on wisdom teeth
- Lesions causes gum abnormalities around wisdom teeth.
- On-going pain and swelling due to lack of space to accommodate wisdom teeth.
Bone Graft
Bone graft is placed at the time of extractions. It helps to reinforce the jaw bone that’s responsible for stabilizing your teeth. Since bone loss is a natural problem anytime a tooth is removed, bone grafts help counteract the natural resorption (shrinking) that happens in your jaw once a tooth is missing. By stabilizing your bone anatomy, you can preserve your facial profile, which help to prevent premature aging. A dental bone graft is recommended in extraction cases to preserve overall oral function.
Alveoloplasty
The procedure is usually done at the same time as tooth extractions, to smooth and contour the jawbone or alveolar ridge. It is done to prepare a patient for denture or implant.
It increases chances of success, retention, comfort, and stability of denture or implant.
